Shame on you, Hillary Clinton!

Hillary Clinton has joined the chorus of nastiest voices in American society by weighing in on Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

Polls show that Obama received great respect and approval for the way he responded to his pastor, and for his historic speech on race. Now, as a way of eroding his growing popular support for the democratic nomination - a contest Obama is winning (has won) - and to cover her lies about her trip to Bosnia - Hillary has revealed, in glowing fashion, her true base nature as a human being. | zjm

“He would not have been my pastor,” Clinton told reporters in Greensburg, Pa. “You know, we don’t have a choice when it comes to our relatives. We have a choice when it comes to our pastors and the churches we attend,” she said. “Everyone will have to decide these matters for themselves. They are obviously very personal matters … I think the choice would be clear for me.”

Bill Burton of the Obama campaign responded: "After originally refusing to play politics with this issue, it's disappointing to see Hillary Clinton's campaign sink to this low in a transparent effort to distract attention away from the story she made up about dodging sniper fire in Bosnia. The truth is, Barack Obama has already spoken out against his pastor's offensive comments and addressed the issue of race in America with a deeply personal and uncommonly honest speech. The American people deserve better than tired political games that do nothing to solve the larger challenges facing this country."

As Andrew Sullivan said in the Atlantic: "I'm not a Democrat and I know how vile the Clintons are. But this really is a new low. I think it is becoming a national imperative to defeat the Clintons."
